I read with great sadness that Birmingham City Council is in the process of trying to outsource Meals On Wheels to a third party.

However they fail to point out that the 3rd party companies will not offer a hot food service and will only provide a frozen meal service.

Prehaps assistance or a online petition should be setup to stop the elderly suffering yet again.

I added my comment on the bottom.  It really was a surprise to me to learn that 'traditional meals-on-wheels are frozen and then reheated to be delivered hot'.

I would guess that it might be a surprise to others, too! I imagine that many people think they are getting a freshly-cooked hot meal and in fact they're getting a reheated one.
