Hi DawnRun had survey two weeks ago who explained that warm front had told them not to put combi boilers on older systems because of problems with leaking joints. They had a lot of complaints. Ask us to sign a disclaimer making it our responsibilty if we have any probs. Anyway hopefully getting combi and in the airing cupboard where we want it. Haven't heard anything yet so don't know if it well exceed £2700.He said we would get a letter if we had anything to pay but otherwise they would phone with installation date. Just hope it's before Christmas. Regards Sadgran

Good news then SadGran.. the company who surveyed my system said more or less the same except they are going to replace my pipework because it's too small (said the B to the A).. regards

Well she did'nt know the answer.... I'm sure she does work hard and has made it her business to find out the answers to my questions... Let's just hope when she is old and/or infirm that there is still a philanthropic Labour government in power and that this scheme still exists for her.Hopefully by then the mass of complaints about WarmFront will have been dealt with.

Just joined site in hope of finding other sufferers. Received Warm Front Grant and installation of combi boiler and 2 radiators carried out in April. Ongoing problems since then with daily pressure drop on boiler. Engineers have been out 5 times and now say fault can only be down to leakage under concrete floor and only means of repair will be to have pipework re-routed at my cost. Ive had a combui boiler for years and never had this problem. Am now left with a system that will not operate without daily pressure increase and worry of finding funds to have pipe work sorted. Can any one offer any advice please? I'm in a worse situation than I was before I got the grant. Devastated to see that they now appearto be advising not to fit combis on old systems , this was never mentioned to me!

I guess the Engineers were WarmFronts own people were they??.. I would get a second and third opinion if I were you from independant local Corgi Installers... Can't do any harm and will be free.. Personally I would have thought if the supposed leak was from your mains supply, then would'nt you have had some other symptoms like discoloured water and low water pressure at the tap?... And should'nt Warm Front have made sure that you had adequate mains water pressure before starting work??... regards DawnRun

Hi DawnRun have received quote from local installer. We have to pay £146 over the grant for the work although still believe grant should cover cost. Warm Front took £70 off grant for first survey and energy saving light bulbs they sent which is outrageous I'm going to ring them and tell them they can have the bulbs back I'm sure they're supposed to be free. Was hoping to have work done this month but hubby not well has been in hospital with pneumonia so have to wai until he is back on his feet as he is going to take up floor boards etc for them to fit boiler. Happy New Year to you and hope you hear something soon from your installer.

    Regards Sadgran
