Can anyone help.  My mother and father own there own property but the windows are a mess.  Unfortunatley they have no savings and are on state pension. Does anyone know if they can get help with paying for new windows and if so how do they go about it?????

There are grants for insulation which are available under the much-criticised WarmFront scheme - see www.warmfrontgrants.co.uk

Other than that, possibly there are grants available through the local authority where your parents live.  A phone call to the council offices is all it would take to find out.

Further, the fact that they own their own home means that there is likely to be equity in the property - this might be a time to consider equity release to spend on new windows, to make them more comfortable, save on fuel bills and improve the value of the property.
