I am a corgi registered gas engineer who is fed up totally with the way customers and sole trader gas engineers are being treated under the warm front scheme. I do alot of work for age concern but am begining to wonder why i bother, i am not allowed to do the £2700 grant work as you have to tender to do the work which is stupid. Why can the customer not recieve a voucher for this amount and pick whoever they want to do the work as long as they are corgi registered. Its just another case of jobs for the boys. I am getting sick of going to pensioners houses to a 30 year old boiler just to tell them i can`t put them one in but put put them on to a company that can, Why should i. Time and time again i hear that people have also got to pay more than the available grant to get it done ,you are just getting ripped off.The boilers are a load of rubbish that are being put in aswell , so i am sorry but please dont ask me to come and fix one for £30 when companies are putting them in for £2700PLUS and then forgetting about you.

 

christ i am so much on your side !!!!!  u obviously know what the hell goin on !! ex Warm Front - Eaga plc ps if u ever do work for them imagine scenario of some little non corgi registered *** pointin out the non-errors u have made eg flue within 300mm of window opener etc !! (flue outer not inner) they need exposin iguana is THERE company!!

I do think it would be a good idea for customers with a grant being given vouchers as it certainly would make it easier all round. 

I'm curious as to which boilers you say are 'rubbish'.  The boiler I had installed is the same make as one my sister had fitted by British Gas and also the same make as one my mother had installed by an independent Corgi registered fitter.
