When calculating how much a pensioner needs to live on I am sure that the government thinks that we are all council tenents in receipt of housing benefit. They do not take into consideration that home owners have to insure their properties and provide for maintainance and repairs. I  pay out a large proportion of my pension in home care insurances because if I did have a problem not covered by my buildings insurance I would not have the money to pay a large repair bill as it is impossible to save much on £124.10 per week state pension.

I wish help the aged would bring this to the attention of the government as not only do we get older by the day, so do our homes and as far as I know there isnt any help available for elderly home owners.
