Dear Supporter,

This month, we've launched a new website to help raise funds for a unique research project. The Disconnected Mind is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to assess and compare the causes of mental decline in old age. We need your help to carry out this vital work. Please tell your friends and family about this exciting project.
We're asking for your views on adult learning to help our campaign calling for older people to have equal access to informal adult learning.
We've also got news of a rare opportunity to question Hazel Blears MP directly on the issues that affect you.

New website for The Disconnected Mind appeal
In 1947, 70,000 Scottish children took the same intelligence test; the Disconnected Mind project aims to retest this group in older age to unlock the causes of age-related mental decline. We desperately need your help to raise funds for this innovative research project.

Have your say at No. 10
At 11am, Monday 25 February, Hazel Blears, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government will take part in a live web chat on the No 10 website.
Join in to ask the Minister questions on any part of her brief which includes housing, urban regeneration and planning. This is an excellent opportunity for older people and those campaigning on their behalf to question the senior Government minister.

More money needed to help victims of Bangladesh cyclone
Funds for rehabilitation for survivors of Cyclone Sidr in November 2007 are insufficient for the scale of the disaster. We were able to meet the immediate needs of 5,000 older people and their families but thousands are still in need of resources to rebuild homes, health and livelihoods.
Please donate to the Bangladesh Cyclone Appeal
