Dear Supporter,

Welcome to the Events diary from Help the Aged.
May is all about enjoying the sunshine and getting active, whether that's competing in a running event or cycling challenge, or living more dangerously and taking part in a skydive. No matter what you choose to do you will help to make a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged older people.
Where does your money go? Find out below.

Date for your diary: Run the Leeds Abbey Dash
The date for this year's Leeds Abbey Dash...25 November. It's set to be the best race yet, with a faster and flatter course, perfect for personal bests, a new starting point outside the Town Hall and capacity for even more runners. Why wait to register? Dust off your running shoes and sign up today!
Congratulations to all to our London Marathon runners!
A huge well done and thank you to all of our marathon runners, every one of whom made it over the finish line! Despite the heat, an enjoyable day was had by runners and supporters alike. We're hoping to raise over £80,000, which will go towards our vital work for disadvantaged older people. View the London Marathon pictures in our photo gallery
You want to be part of it: New York, New York!
Test your athletic ability in one of the world's greatest races, the ING New York City Marathon. Imagine crossing the finish line in Central Park, being cheered on by two million spectators and 315 million television viewers, then celebrating among the sights and sounds of the Big Apple! Could you rise to the challenge? Register here

Take the plunge for disadvantaged older people
Imagine standing at the edge of an open doorway in an aircraft flying at 10,000 feet. Imagine leaning forward out of that doorway and letting go, freefalling through the clouds at 120mph. Are you ready for excitement, exhilaration and the experience of a lifetime?

trip or fall may sound trivial, but it's the most common form of accident in the over-65's and can lead to loss of mobility and independence.  Help the Aged raises awareness that falls aren't an inevitable part of ageing through an annual campaign, and produces reports and resources on preventing falls.
