Guidelines for use
The Help the Aged discussion board is designed to allow older people,
their friends, relatives and carers to share their views on topical issues,
make new friends, exchange ideas or source advice and information.
While our discussion board is free and open to all, we ask that all its users
be responsible for their contributions. Make sure your posts are in good taste
and are considerate towards your fellow users.
Post in the right place
Our discussion board’s home page displays different forums which cover unique
subject areas. Try to add your post in the correct forum. This will make it easier
for other users to join the conversation.
Occasionally the administrator may move posted threads to a more appropriate
location.
Don’t forget to register
You can browse the posts on our discussion board at any time but if you wish to add a message,
you will need to register your details.
To register, click the ‘Register’ tab at the top of the page.
Registration only takes a few minutes.
Mind your privacy
We display no personal information about our users, except their username,
when they post a message. It is the user's choice to display further personal
details, for example their Christian name.
To protect the safety of our users, we do not allow the publication of personal
telephone numbers on our discussion board. Any such posts will be deleted by the
administrator.
Watch your language
We may occasionally remove postings deemed to be offensive or abusive, or potentially
libelous which could put the Charity in legal jeopardy.
Users who use offensive language or act in an antisocial or unacceptable
way will be banned from using the discussion board.
If you wish to report a post that you find offensive, please contact the
administrator, stating its location.
Do not try to advertise
The Help the Aged discussion board is not a free platform for the promotion of
commercial services, hotels or products. Likewise, it should not be used as a
research tool by direct marketers, television production companies and academic
researchers.
Any such posts will be deleted by the administrator.
If you require information about Help the Aged, information about older people
or have a product you believe we should know about, please contact the administrator
directly at webmanager@helptheaged.org.uk.
