About Growing Older in Wales
The programme brings theory and evidence together into a practical resource for tackling age discrimination.
It focuses on the negative effects of older people’s experiences of age discrimination, looking at examples from areas of public and private life including employment, citizenship, insurance, health care and social care services.
It aims to challenge attitudes towards ageing and to create a fair and equal society for older people.

Growing Older in Wales: a training resource to promote age awareness and age equality in practice
This pack contains step-by-step guidance on how to enact the theory and best practice outlined in 'How to Age-proof', plus a facilitator’s guide to rolling out the training within your organisation.
The materials guide the reader through concepts like attitudes to ageing and the causes of age discrimination, to the design of age-proofed, inclusive services, using the United Nations Principles for Older Persons and Human Rights as a baseline.
Theory is punctuated by case studies illustrating how individuals have experienced age discrimination in various social settings.
Specification: A4, 325-page bilingual ring-bound loose-leaf manual with CD-ROM.
