4. Sleep apnoea

Sleep apnoea is when people stop breathing for a while during sleep. It robs many older people of a good night's sleep and yet often goes undiagnosed.
If you think you suffer from this, see your doctor for advice. Sleep apnoea should always be taken seriously because it can increase your risk of stroke, heart disease and high blood pressure. The remedy may be a piece of equipment that blows air into your nose to keep the airways open.
