3. Where to get help

If you're worried you have an STD it is a good idea to either talk to your GP or visit a NHS genitourinary or sexual health clinic. Information and tests are free and confidential at a clinic.

You can find a clinic by contacting NHS Direct or FPA (Family Planning association), or look in the phone book under genitourinary medicine, venereal or sexually transmitted disease.

FPA
Offers a Sexual Health Direct Helpline and enquiry service, can provide details of your nearest clinic. Open Monday to Friday.

Tel: 0845 310 1334

NHS Direct
24-hour nurse advice and health information service, providing confidential information.

Tel: 0845 4647
