Bogus Callers

3. What is the Bogus Caller scheme?

As part of the SeniorSafety Bogus Caller scheme, Help the Aged has developed a 'door alert' button that can be added on to the SeniorLink service.

The Bogus Caller add-on will provide you with a 'door alert' button installed next to your front door. When the button is pressed, an immediate connection is made with an operator at the response centre who will offer assistance. This can give you greater reassurance and security when answering the door to unexpected callers.

The basic SeniorLink service operates throughout England, Scotland and Wales. The Bogus Caller add-on is limited to certain areas. To find out where the Bogus Caller Scheme operates visit the Local Services section. Help the Aged encourages everyone to be careful when answering the door, most callers are genuine but some are not.
