This leaflet looks at the help you can get from your local council and the NHS, and at arranging and paying for care yourself. The rules about funding are complicated, but remember that they won’t all apply to you.
Whether or not you get help with your fees, you should have some choice about which home you move to. It is important to find a care home that is right for you. This leaflet gives advice on how to find a care home and what to look out for; and outlines what steps you can take if you are unhappy once you have moved in.
