Linking policy

Inbound links

Help the Aged is happy for any reputable organisation to link to our website from theirs. The link can go to our homepage, www.helptheaged.org.uk, or to any relevant page within the site (though it is recommended that 'deep' links are monitored in case the pages are removed at a later stage).

If possible, the link should be accompanied by some or all of the following description of our organisation:

Help the Aged is the charity fighting to free disadvantaged older people in the UK and overseas from poverty, isolation and neglect. It campaigns to raise public awareness of the issues affecting older people and to bring about policy change. The Charity delivers a range of services including information and advice, home support and community living that are supported by its fundraising activities and paid for services. Help the Aged also funds vital research into the health issues and experiences of older people to improve the quality of later life.

Outbound links

Help the Aged does not enter into ‘reciprocal link’ agreements. Any organisation that wants us to link to their website must fulfil the following criteria:

  • The organisation must have similar aims to ours, or contribute to our work.
  • The organisation must not have a sole purpose of endorsing or selling products unless connected to a partnership agreement.
  • The content must be of national interest.
  • The content of the site must be relevant and useful to the audience of the Help the Aged web page where the link will appear.
  • The content must be reliable and up-to-date.
  • The website must be professionally designed, well presented, and updated appropriately.
  • The website must conform to WAI accessibility guidelines so that people with disabilities can use it.

If your organisation meets these criteria, please email us with link requests.
