Navigate the site
This website is divided into five sections:
- What We Do - find out about the Charity and its work.
- Advice & Support - read useful information about topics from health to pensions.
- How You Can Help - get involved with fundraising or volunteering for the Charity.
- Campaigns & Issues - learn about our campaigning work on issues from ageism to public transport.
- Online Shop - browse our products and services specially designed for older people.
The sub-topics in each section are listed in a menu on the left hand side of the page.
On the right hand side of the page you can find extra information, including:
- related pages that may be of interest;
- contact details;
- relevant newsletters to which you may wish to subscribe; and
- publications and downloads.
Use the site map to get an overview of what's in each section.

Search the site
The search box is at the top left of each page, below the navigation tabs. Enter a word, or words (for example, council tax or arthritis>) and press 'Go'. All the relevant results will be listed.
If you want to search for a specific phrase – for example disability living allowance – enclose the phrase in quote marks.
You can narrow or broaden your search results by using ‘or’ and ‘not’. For example:
- “care home” or “sheltered housing” will retrieve pages with either of those phrases on; and
- “pension” not “state” will retrieve pages with the word pension on them, but not the word state.
Use the dropdown menu to the right of the search box to:
- narrow your search to a particular section of the site; or
- search for PDF files (for example, if you're looking for an advice leaflet to download).
