Stop the UN's ageist practices
The UN is implying that older people around the world don’t matter and couldn’t possibly be infected by HIV or AIDS.
The UN does not measure the impact and spread of infection of HIV and AIDS amongst people over the age of 49.
Including them in measurements would underline the need for their inclusion in programmes to address the pandemic.

In reality senior citizens often play a vital role in developing countries by caring for the survivors of HIV and children who have been orphaned by AIDS.
Estimates state that millions of adults over 50 are living with HIV and AIDS worldwide. The UN must include older people in its measurements. This is the only way for older people take their rightful place at the heart of strategies to tackle the epidemic.
This petition is part of Age Demands Action, a global campaign coordinated by HelpAge International and supported by Help the Aged. We call for older people to be included in development policies and practice.
