Week of Action on Care: 8-12 June 2009
Age Concern and Help the Aged is holding a week of action to promote the need for quality care for older people and we want you to be part of it.
If you are interested in getting involved, here are some ideas:
Visit your MP at their weekly surgery and talk to them about care
Find out when and where your MP holds surgeries by calling 020 7219 3000 and asking to be transferred to your MP's office. Alternatively, you can write to your MP at: House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA.
If you do not know the name of your MP, you can find out by calling 020 7219 4272 or visiting findyourmp.parliament.uk
Tell five friends about the week of action and ask them to join in
We need as many people as possible to support our week of action. Tell your friends and family and ask them to get involved.
Share your experience of care with us
Visit the Age Concern website and fill in the online case study form
If you are a member of an Older People’s Forum, hold a meeting to discuss care in your area
Consider inviting the local MP and councillors along to listen to people's views.
However you get involved, let your local media know what you are doing
