Older people walking down the streetWhat we want

We want all dangerous pavements to be repaired by July 2009 so that older people can walk without fear of falling.

The money for councils to spend on pavements comes from each national government, but the power to repair them rests with each local authority.

We want all local authorities to repair dangerous pavements in their area.

Local authorities should also check the state of pavements every three months to ensure their safety.

What we're doing
As well as putting pressure on local authorities, we’ve recently organised the fifth National Falls Awareness Day.
