What you can do

Thanks to pressure from Help the Aged campaigners, the Lifetime Homes standard will be applied to new housing in England.

Housing Minister Caroline Flint has promised to ensure that all public housing from 2011, and all new public and private housing from 2013, is built to the Lifetime Homes standard.

A big thank you to everyone who campaigned with us – we can all be proud of the changes we have helped achieve for older people.

Help the Aged will continue to work to ensure these plans turn into action on the ground.
