The pair, who are twins, joined the actress Liz Smith to celebrate the launch of the sponsored walking event with a spring stroll with a through London’s Hyde Park.

The aim of the event is to get people across the UK walking any time over The Big Spring Walk weekend of 25th to 27th April 2008 to raise vital funds for disadvantaged older people.

There are a number of ways that people can take part in The Big Spring Walk whether it is taking a ‘boot to the commute’ and walking all or part of their way to work or organising a walk of their own with friends and family.

Alternatively, people can attend one of the Help the Aged organised walks which are taking place across the UK, including a flagship event in London’s Hyde Park on Saturday 26th April.

Daniel King, said: 'I fully recommend walking and it is a great activity for people of all ages and fitness levels.  I urge everyone to put their best foot forward and take part in The Big Spring Walk to help raise vital funds for disadvantaged older people in need.'

All money raised from this year’s event, sponsored by Abbey, will go towards funding the work of Help the Aged, including helping the Charity in its fight to combat poverty amongst disadvantaged older people.
