Hundreds of thousands of older people live in poverty due to poor pensions and high taxation.

Our benefits system is a confusing labyrinth. As a result many of those who struggle to survive on inadequate state pensions are unaware of the financial help they are entitled to. We need to ensure that our poorest older people do not miss out on vital supplements that are rightfully theirs.
