Winter Deaths

Home > Campaigns & issues

Last winter, more than 25,000 people over the age of 65 died as a result of cold related illnesses.
Older woman wrapped up in blanket Help the Aged is calling for the Government, health services and private companies to take action to stop older people dying, cold and alone.

What we want

The Government must address the factors that cause older people to die of the cold: poverty and poor housing.
