The Help the Aged Graduate Club
If you've moved into the world of work but still have a hankering for fun, games and raising money for charity, we want to hear from you!
Whether you're an ex-student volunteer who just can't shake the collecting bug, or you missed out on Help the Aged events first time round, our Graduate Club gives you the chance to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable and isolated older people.
What's in it for you?
The chance to re-establish and maintain contact with friends from your student fundraising days, meeting at events and reunions.
The opportunity to remain involved in the fundraising activities you enjoyed at college and to become interested in new ones.
The chance to develop your skills outside day-to-day job role and increase your prospects of promotion and/or moving into a sector or job that's right for you.
What can you do?
You can get involved at work or home as well as help out at some of our fun fundraising events, as follows. Register your interest today and get involved.
At Student Programme events
You can offer your expertise as a driver or trainer, get involved in the fundraising itself or even give us a helping hand behind the scenes as a marshal. We are also looking for committee members to help us develop both student and graduate activities.
At work
Fundraising is great for teamwork and for improving a company's profile with staff and the community. Help the Aged works with companies and their staff in a range of ways - as a Graduate Club member you could be a great ambassador for our work.
At home
Choose to help out at a local Help the Aged shop or with a house-to-house collection. You could get involved with a local fundraising committee or just help with the odd event and local initiative.
Case study
Richard Weir, of Deloitte & Touche, graduated from Edinburgh University and is one of the founder members of the Help the Aged Graduate Club.
'My employers were impressed with my fundraising activities and the leadership and teamworking experience I gained from them,' Richard explains. 'I was even able to use one of the training seminars I delivered at the LONDON UnderGRAND event to land myself a job!'
