Fundraising ideas
Here are some ideas for fundraising events that you could organise in your local area to raise money for Help the Aged.
You could get your work colleagues involved, round up your friends and family, or invite any groups and clubs of which you're a member. It's all for a great cause - to free older people from the misery of poverty, isolation and neglect.
Big Bonus Ball Loto
Why not ask a group of people you know to donate £1 to guess what the bonus ball will be for the weeks lottery draw. The person who correctly guesses the bonus ball drawn on the Lotto gets £15, or a prize, with the rest going to Help the Aged!
The Great Cake Bake
Encourage your work colleagues to donate some of their favourite home-cooked (or shop-bought) goodies to sell to their colleagues. It’s a simple way to raise money and will perk up the morning coffee break!
Organise a themed party
Do you know someone who is a dab hand with a pack of cards? Why not get a group together and organise a fun DIY casino night? Race nights are also very popular and your can organise an event with a difference – why not race rubber ducks in your local lake?!
Get fit and fundraise
Talk to your local gym about getting involved with a local sponsored event. You could challenge gym users to row the equivalent distance of the English Channel (on a rowing machine) or maybe cycle the same number of miles as John O’Groats to Lands End (on a gym bike)!
Quiz night
Quiz nights are well loved by everyone and take place regularly in many pubs and clubs across the UK. Why not organise your very own quiz and raise funds for Help the Aged? You could also hold to a raffle in the break to make the most from the event!
Karaoke night
Find those budding stars among you with a karaoke night and ask people to donate money for tickets. You could even have a talent contest and reward the winner with a prize!
Jumble sale
One man's rubbish is another’s treasure. Ask your friends and family, or your local group, to sort out the items they no longer use and sell them to others who really want them, and donate the money raised to Help the Aged.
Morning brunch
If you're part of a local group or club, why not invite them to enjoy brunch together and ask them to make a donation for tea and a cake…or coffee and biscuits!
Hold a fête
You could sell homemade products like crafts and traditional foods from other countries, or even set up a face painting stall for children.
Sponsored events
The possibilities are endless! Some common ideas are a sponsored sporting event or a sponsored silence.
