Huge congratulations to all the Help the Aged runners who took part in the Flora London Marathon. We hope you all had a wonderful day, despite the downpours! It was great to meet all of those who attended the after-party and congratulate you on your achievement.

We really appreciate all our runners' hard work. Sponsorship raised will make a huge difference to the lives of older people suffering from poverty, isolatons and neglect.

Taking part in 2009

The ballot for the 2009 London Marathon has now closed.  If you applied through the ballot and are successful getting your own place in the marathon, we would still love to have you on our team and will offer you exactly the same support as our gold bond runners.

The course

With over 35,000 participants, this is the world's most famous marathon. You will be watched by a million spectators cheering you along the route, which takes in some of the city’s most notable landmarks – including the Cutty Sark, the London Eye, Canary Wharf, the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge, London Bridge, and the Thames Barrier.

The money raised for Help the Aged by this event will help us to end poverty, isolation and neglect among disadvantaged older people in the UK and abroad.
