The Great Sunday Lunch
18 October 2009
Sit down and tuck into the Great Sunday Lunch! This special event gives you the chance to enjoy good food and good company while raising money for vulnerable older people.
Getting together for a meal is a great way to celebrate life at any age, whether it’s dinner with the family, a pub lunch, or sandwiches at the office. This year's Great Sunday took place on 18 October.
We’ve got plenty of ideas to help you raise money from your roast or bucks from your buffet, and every penny you raise will make a difference:
- £5 can pay for a meal at a lunch club for older people.
- £10 can pay for a social activity like a group outing or exercise class.
- £50 can fund a ‘befriending’ visit to a lonely older person.
- £500 can run a minibus for a week, taking older people to a local day centre.
- £1,000 can keep a day centre open for a week, allowing hundreds of older people to enjoy activities, companionship and warmth.
Visit the Great Sunday Lunch website to find out how you can get involved.
