Our easy step by step guide to making your Big Spring Walk a huge success.
Sort out your route
Wherever you live, there will be somewhere that you can hold a walk; a local park, round the town, by a river or even on the beach!
Create your own route or download an existing walk route from www.go4awalk.com.

Shout it out - get everybody involved
Promote your walk. Tell family, friends and community. You can also send them an evite.

Wear the sunshine
Come rain or shine, have fun! Add a twist to make it a more memorable walk e.g. a fancy dress theme, a quiz or challenges for walkers on route. Wear something yellow or a Help the Aged t-shirt to guarantee some brightness!

Do it for us - Help the Aged
Ask participants to get sponsored for walking or ask walkers to make a donation for taking part.
Don’t forget to ask all your walkers or sponsors to tick the Gift Aid box on the sponsorship form.
You might also consider:
- providing refreshments (tea, coffee, cakes, snacks) or a picnic in return for a donation; and
- asking your most generous donors first - they may set a good example for others to follow!

Register your walk
Register your Big Spring Walk so we can remind your friends, family or colleagues to join or sponsor you on the day. You can register your walk online.

Return all the money to Help the Aged
After your event, collect all the money you have raised and write a cheque for the total amount payable to Help the Aged.
Send the cheque back to Help the Aged along with all your sponsorship forms.
