Join with others to make a difference to older people in your local community. By fundraising locally with a committee you can raise money for projects in your area.

  • Would you enjoy being part of a dedicated group of people who are helping their own local community?
  • Would you like to get involved with raising and distributing money to local older people?
  • Do you have lots of ideas and energy?

Each of our dedicated volunteer committees has a different way of raising funds but what they do have in common is that they are able to decide what local projects they would like to spend the money on.

Where does the money go?

Over the past year the committees have raised over £100,000 and been able to give grants to pensioner forums, transport schemes, local Age Concerns, HandyVans, befriending schemes, luncheon clubs and lots of other deserving projects.

How can you fundraise for your group?

There are as many different ways of fundraising as there are fundraising groups. Committees can fundraise by:

  • Holding events and sponsored activities;
  • Contacting local trusts and foundations;
  • Applying for Charity of the Year status; and
  • Encouraging donations through local publicity.
