Fundraising for Help the Aged
There are many ways you can volunteer to help raise funds for Help the Aged. If you’re interested in helping us to raise funds, see a list of opportunities here.
Volunteering in your local community
Help the Aged works with a vast number of groups and organisations supporting older people in local communities throughout the country, and we refer many volunteers to these. Opportunities vary greatly but can include, for example, befriending, committees, day centres, driving, help with shopping, hospital visiting, IT and office support, amongst many others.
Please complete the online enquiry form and we will forward you details of those groups and organisations we have links with in your area.
Help the Aged Sunshine Project -
Care home visiting in Clacton
The Sunshine Project aims to enrich the lives of older people living in care homes in the Clacton area. Volunteering just one hour a week can make a huge difference to an isolated older person as they may have no other visitors.
The Project also aims to teach IT skills to older people living in care homes - so if you know how to send emails or surf the internet we'd like to hear from you. To find out more please email us at volunteering or call 020 7239 1903.
Help the Aged shops
Our shops are not only vital for raising funds, they are a source of useful information for older people. By volunteering in a Help the Aged shop you'll learn new skills, make friends and be more involved in your local community. See the Shop volunteers page or email us at volunteering to find out more.
Help the Aged local fundraising committees
Our local fundraising committees bring in money to help provide support to older people and promote the work of Help the Aged. If you want to find out if there is a Help the Aged committee in your area or simply want to know more about them, please email Gill Sargeant
