Woman work in a Help the Aged shopShop volunteers

Make new friends, gain retail experience and raise vital funds to help disadvantaged older people – volunteer in a Help the Aged shop.

With over 4,600 shop volunteers of all ages working in 360 shops, you can be part of a team that:

  • Raises millions of pounds a year to help older people;
  • Processes, sorts and recycles bags of stock donated by the local public (saving masses of space in landfill!)
  • Engages with customers to provide a friendly shopping experience.
  • Promotes the work of our Charity to the local community.

You will also become a member of our Shops Volunteer Club which entitles you to:

  • 20% discount in all Help the Aged shops;
  • free activities and social events;
  • discounts on selected Help the Aged products and services;
  • training, guidance and support; and
  • regular updates about the work of the Charity.
