Been abroad recently? Don't let your leftover foreign currency go to waste.

Help the Aged collects:

  • notes and coins of any currency; and
  • old European currency that is no longer valid.

How do I donate my foreign currency?

  • Take it to your nearest Help the Aged shop or Age Concern shop
  • Take it to any branch of International Currency Exchange (ICE)
  • Take it to any branch of Coventry Building Society
  • Post it to: Foreign Currency Appeal, Help the Aged, Head Office, 207-221 Pentonville Road, London N1 9UZ
  • Drop it at a collection point in the following shopping centres: Orchards Shopping Centre in Dartford, The Mall Falkirk and The Mall Gloucester.

Free collection

If you have coinage weighing over 8kg (about five mugs full of coins), we'll collect it for free. Just call the Recycling Hotline on 020 7239 1869 or email us

What else can you do?

  • Ask people at your local school, college, university, church or office to bring in their foreign coins and notes.
  • Ask your local travel agent, bank or post office if they can place one of our collection tins next to their foreign currency desk.
  • If you know someone who works for a large company? Refer them to our corporate website
  • Download a foreign currency recycling poster (PDF, 361k) to display in your office.
