Schools, colleges and universities
Make a difference to older peoples' lives by recycling foreign currency, mobile phones and used toner/inkjet cartridges.
The Help the Aged Recycling Appeal is a great way for students and teachers to get involved in an environmentally friendly initiative that gets rid of waste and raises funds for charity.
We provide posters for you to print and display around your school, and we'll present you with a certificate to let you know how much money you've raised.
Foreign currency
We collect any foreign coins and notes, even old European currency which is no longer in circulation. We can give you a collection tin and secure storage bags, and once you have 8kg (which could translate into £200 for Help the Aged) we'll collect it for free. Mobile phones
We'll arrange free collection for 10 phones or more. Each working phone raises at least £5. Find out more about mobile phone recycling
Print cartridges
A recyclable cartridge will raise between 10 pence and £2 for us. Once you have 15 or more we can arrange a free collection. Find out more about toner and inkjet recycling
More ideas
Why not get your pupils to design a recycling box for collecting mobile phones and cartridges? (Please store cartridges and mobiles separately to avoid damage).
You could also hold a special assembly to make pupils aware of our recycling scheme, and let them know how they will help older people by getting involved. Download our recycling assembly plan (PDF,24k).
We can provide envelopes to distribute for collecting phones and inkjet cartridges.
