Community services
Help the Aged a range of services enabling older people to stay living independently in their own homes for as long as possible.
These services come under three categories:
Home Support
This is a range of practical services that support older people in the home, improving their quality of life. For example, our HandyVan fitters install security equipment, change locks on doors and windows, and fit smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, helping older people to feel safer in their homes.
Advice and Information
These services empower older people, their families and carers through the provision of advice and information on topics such as finances, health, housing and care. The advice and information is offered through help lines, face-to-face projects, written booklets and publications, and our websites.
Community Living
This is a variety of services that help older people to stay healthy, active and engaged with the community and society as a whole. We help older people’s groups and projects to purchase vital transport equipment, and support their work with large and small grants; we support older people directly with specialised wardens; and we work to improve the lives of older people in developing countries.
