Research into Ageing Grantholders Conference

Research into Ageing annual Grantholders’ conference showcases the dept and breath of research funded by Research into Ageing. This two day intensive conference encourages grantholders to foster new collaboration and exchange information and ideas.

Creative Insight into Life Skills for Older People Seminar
25 September 2008

Toynbee Hall, London

This seminar follows the Launch of the Learning for Living report and aims to generate productive discussion around the four literacy needs highlighted in the report. It will highlight the various skills that older people need to prevent them becoming isolate and/or excluded in their communities, such as citizenship literacy, health literacy, financial literacy and ICT literacy.

The seminar aims to attract good representation from the education and older people’s sector, as well as government representation from Department of Health, Department of Work and Pensions, Communities and Local Government department and Department for Innovation, Universities, and Skills.

UK Age Research Forum Showcase

The UK Age Research Forum is a strategic partnership between government, research councils and charities that aims to make a positive difference to the lives of older people through research. Help the Aged holds the Chair of the UK Age Research Forum and the Showcase is a key activity of the Forum.

The conference’s goals are to highlight the best of UK age research from the members of the Forum; to show how age research has translated into benefits for older people and into evidence-based policy and practice; and to update delegates on future developments and trends in age research.
