Local committees
Our dedicated volunteer committees across the UK work hard to raise vital funds for local projects in the community.
How you can help
Are you interested in:
- Contributing your ideas, energy and time to make a difference in your area?
- Helping identify the needs of local older people in your area
- Getting involved in raising money to help fund local projects?
Each of our Volunteer Committees has different ways of raising funds and awareness. But what they all have in common is that you are able to decide what local projects you would like to spend the money on.
Where does the money you raise go?
Over the past year, Committees have raised over £100,000 and been able to give grants to Pensioner Forums, Transport schemes, local Age Concerns, and helped fund the HandyVan and SeniorLink facilities. Whatever your aim, you can help out as part of one of our local Committees.

How can you make a difference?
Local Committees reflect the personality of those involved. Committees fundraise by:
- Holding events and sponsored activities. Many of these become a regular part of your community’s events
- Contacting your local Trusts and Foundations
- Making application to your local businesses for Charity of the Year status
- Encouraging donations through local publicity
