Flooded area in Myanmar (Burma)The Charity’s work continues in Myanmar (Burma)

Help the Aged has so far reached over 11,000 households in Yangon (Rangoon) and the Kyaik Lat township in the Ayeyarwady Delta in Myanmar (Burma).

Households have received bags of rice, clothing and medicines. Mobile Medical Units visited affected villages to conduct check-ups and provide basic treatment to cyclone survivors.

Help the Aged is working in partnership with HelpAge International and HelpAge Korea to support the YMCA in Myanmar (Burma). The YMCA runs a homecare programme in Yangon (Rangoon) providing support to destitute older people within their communities.

Almost 100 households in the homecare programme have been reached with relief supplies including food and tools to repair shelters.

Help the Aged and HelpAge International are now looking at plans to implement longer-term rehabilitation programmes in targeted areas, in partnership with the YMCA.

Help the Aged is helping older survivors of the Myanmar (Burma) cyclone because of generous donations from people like you.
