Spotlight Report 2008 – Spotlight on older people in the UK
This report looks at the facts and figures on poverty, and on how people dependent on a state pension cope with daily living costs; on isolation, mobility and access to essential services; on levels of satisfaction with quality of life; on the scarcity of employment and learning opportunities; and on the way our society's attitudes to age have tacitly supported the institutionalised ageism within our health and social care systems. Spotlight also shows whether things are getting better or worse for our older generation.

Research Highlights 2008
Research into Ageing is the biomedical research arm of Help the Aged. This report partly focuses on our supporters and the reasons why they give their time and money to help our cause, and highlights some of the biomedical research projects we are able to fund thanks to them. From the person who gives a small regular donation to the scientist who gives his time for free, their support is vital to the continuation of our work.

Age of Discovery – Working towards a healthier future
Research into Ageing, a special trust within Help the Aged, is the only organisation in the UK that dedicates its research funding to supporting conditions and disabilities that occur later in life. This publication not only celebrates the achievements of Research into Ageing since its foundation in 1976 and commemorates the people who have helped us along the way with donations or research, but also looks to the future and appreciates some of the remaining challenges that need to be conquered.
